Der internationale Verband für Open und Distance Education (International Council for Open and Distance Education, ICDE) beschäftigt sich mit dem demokratischen Zugang von offenen, online, flexiblen und qualitativen Bildungsangeboten.

ICDE is a global association with a trajectory devoted to the promotion of democratic access to inclusive, open, online, flexible and quality education.

Founded in 1938, the International Council for Open and Distance Education (ICDE) is partially funded by the Norwegian Government and is based in Oslo, Norway’s capital, since 1988. ICDE also has a long lasting partnership with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), dating from the 1960’s.

Today, ICDE is an association with excellent governance, efficiency and acting in every corner of the world through conferences and other events that help finance its activities, while also counting with project subsidies, member’s fees and other contributions.

ICDE NATAL 2021

From the 18th to the 21st of October, 2021, Natal, capital of Rio Grande do Norte, situated in the northeastern region of Brazil, also known as the “City of the Sun”, shall host the 29th ICDE World Conference on Online Learning organized by the Laboratório de Inovação Tecnológica em Saúde (LAIS) of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN).
