The European Higher Education Society (EAIR), is an international association for higher education researchers, practitioners, students, managers and policy-makers. The mission of EAIR is to support research and development in higher education research, policy and practice, to the general benefit of higher education.

EAIR announced that the 43rd Annual EAIR Forum will take place from 9 to 11 September 2021 at Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. The theme of the 2021 EAIR Berlin Forum is "Transformation Fast and Slow: Quality, Trust and Digitalisation in Higher Education".

Many countries are facing a third wave of the pandemic, while higher education institutions are still in mode of distance education and virtual working settings and environments. In such a situation, including uncertain future perspectives regarding meetings and conferences and in close exchange with the Forum host, the Humboldt University in Berlin, the Executive Committee decided to implement the event as an online Forum. For the very first time, participants will meet, present and discuss research findings and presentations in a virtual mode.
