Die Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München sucht zum 01.11.2020 einen Teaching and Research Assistant für die Fakultät Mathematik, Informatik und Statistik. Der/Die Wissenschaftler/-in wird in der Forschungsgruppe unter der Leitung von Professor Dr. Sven Strickroth vom Lehr- und Forschungsbereich Programmier- und Modellierungssprachen arbeiten. Die Hauptinteressengebiete der Gruppe sind digitale Medien und Technologien, die das menschliche Lernen, die Zusammenarbeit, Kommunikation und soziale Interaktion unterstützen. Es besteht grundsätzlich die Möglichkeit zur Teilzeitbeschäftigung und die Vergütung erfolgt nach 13 TV-L. Die Bewerbungsfrist endet am 23.08.2020.

Aufgaben

The scientist will work in the Research Group Technology-Enhanced Learning under the direction of Professor Dr. Sven Strickroth of the Teaching and Research Unit Programming and Modelling Languages.
The group's main areas of interest are digital media and technologies supporting human learning, co-operation, communication, and social interaction. Investigated are theories, methods and innovative technologies to support learning in different situations. Research topics include open, adaptive and collaborative learning environments, gamification, learning analytics as well as technologies for (automatic) assessment and feedback.
Applicants are expected to contribute in research in the field of Technology-Enhanced Learning. An efficient and quick completion of the doctoral studies is expected and will be supported.
A creative and committed mentoring of project and research works (especially in the domain of research), assistance in the organisation of lectures and other courses of the other members of the Teaching and Research Unit, support in the planning and performing of oral exams and in the correction of written tests as well as the independent preparation and supervision of practical courses and exercise classes is also expected.

Anforderungen

A full university degree in a field corresponding to the tasks outlined above will be required, as well as a final university certificate which satisfies the conditions specified in the doctoral degree regulations of the Faculty.
Additional prerequisites are: the willingness to collaborate actively with both faculty members and graduate and undergraduate students in the team, good formal and practical computing skills and the readiness to participate in the independent conception and implementation of software prototypes (using e.g., Java, Web technologies and DBMS), conducting user studies, and statistical evaluations. The prospective candidate should demonstrate the following language capabilities: a good command of English as working language, a willingness to acquire some proficiency in German as the language of undergraduate tuition.
